Corporate Resilience & HEAT Coordinator
Fernando Mazarro is the Lead HEAT Instructor at ACK3, bringing more than 20 years of experience in security and protection across conflict zones and high-risk environments. His extensive background and expertise ensure that participants receive practical, experience-based training designed to prepare them for operating in VUCA environments (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity).
Fernando has held key security and protection roles within humanitarian missions and has delivered training programs for NGO personnel across multiple countries. His experience includes the design and implementation of security protocols, incident management, and the promotion of a strong organizational security culture in challenging and high-risk environments.
Among his core competencies are incident management and risk assessment, ensuring that field teams are prepared to respond effectively during crisis situations. He also possesses expertise in negotiation, first aid, stress management under pressure, weapons awareness, response protocols for attacks and kidnappings, navigation skills and facility security. Fernando combines a solid theoretical foundation with extensive practical experience, making him the ideal instructor to equip participants with the skills and confidence required to operate safely and effectively in hostile environments.
