Role overview
ACK3 is seeking experienced Maritime Security Operatives to join our team and ensure the safety of vessels and crews in high-risk maritime regions worldwide. This role requires proactive risk management, operational oversight, and the ability to operate effectively in dynamic and challenging environments. The Maritime Security Operative will work closely with vessel captains, crew members, and our central operations team to deliver the highest standards of security and resilience across various global shipping lanes.

What is a Maritime Security Operative (MSO)?
A Maritime Security Operative (MSO) is a trained professional responsible for safeguarding vessels, crews, and cargo against threats such as piracy, armed robbery, sabotage, or maritime terrorism. Operating in high-risk international waters, MSOs are certified to act within international legal frameworks. Their duties include onboard surveillance, incident response, access control, risk assessment, and ensuring secure maritime operations, always in compliance with industry security protocols and port regulations.
Requirements
- Aged 23 to 55 years
- Current Curriculum Vitae (CV) / Resume
- Passport with at least 12 months validity
- Clean CRB/DBS or Police Criminal Check (no criminal convictions)
- Continuous Regular Military Service
- Proven Military discharge with good/exemplary service within the last 10 years
- No existing or historical medical or mental health conditions (a medical exam will be required)
Experience
- Valid Seaman’s Card and Discharge Book or CDC
- ENG1/FNG1 Seafarers medical or equivalent
- Completion of all 4 modules of the STCW course
- Ship Security Officer Certificate or Certificate of Proficiency for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties
- Valid Yellow Fever certificate
- Maritime Security Operatives Qualification
